Investigative reporter John Monk reported on the Ravenel case in Sunday's The State. One can draw their own conclusions on why The State got this story first. Monk's writing suggests Michael L. Miller got busted a while back and then ratted out his biggest buyer. The chatter around town is that Ravenel was the biggest name, but that he wasn't the only one. After all, Ravenel was charged with distribution, so there's at least one more player in this affair that hasn't been ID'd yet.
From the Department of There's No Such Thing As Bad Publicity:
Within a mile or so are nightspots the divorced Ravenel was said to frequent — the Blind Tiger Pub, Meritage, Ravel, Rue du Jean and Blossom, according to published accounts and various Ravenel acquaintances. All attract crowds of young people.
