I've always said that politicians pledging to never raise taxes were just asking for trouble. Every time some loon signs that pledge, the market crash just becomes more inevitable and there they are with empty pockets and their principles.
Today, good ol' Mitt put a similar curse on himself when asked how he would bring family values to the White House.
"One of the ways that you help instill, if you will, family values is by having a White House be a place that demonstrates family values," the Massachusetts Republican said in a response to a question at a New Hampshire house party about how he would instill family values as president.
He goes on to trash the Clinton White House. I don't know if you heard, but there was a sex scandal that involved an intern, a dress, and a cigar. Feel free to look elsewhere for the details.
"The kids of America are looking at you. One piece [of instilling values] is acting the part, acting the part of higher ethical standards."
My favorite part is "acting the part of higher ethical standards." Of course, this is just asking for some sex scandal or drug deal or some other horribly personal family scandal to creep in to that huge Romney family so we can all come back to this clip and get a good laugh. Thanks, Mitt.
