As has been the case with just about every John Edwards ad (and there have been a few), I love the opening and it kind of putters to a close for me. He says "If you're looking for a hero, don't look at me. Don't look at Elizabeth." Gold. Solid gold. And the thing is that it's totally sincere. If you've ever met either one of them, you know the Edwards aren't as self-involved as John's haircut might imply.
Then you get to the end where he's talking about how the Democratic Party needs to show a little back bone and all the sudden it's like your dad calling you a pussy on the sidelines at a soccer match — not my dad, mind you (he's a reader). It doesn't get you excited. It pisses you off.
