Earthquake '08: Biggest Impact Will Be on Schools

The Charleston County School District's building supervisor Bill Lewis had already put the school board on notice that he was ready to invest district money to fix Buist, Memminger, and Fraser and to close James Simmons to prepare the district for earthquakes.

He's looking to wait for possible stimulus money (and I'm sure this will help the argument), but Lewis has said he's prepared to borrow money to get it done. No matter what changes in the district's proposal for shuffling and closing schools, consider these changes on the peninsula firmly on the fast track.
