In a post on the economic guru prospects of the GOP (which included mention of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford), The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza mentioned that former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney is staying busy in his old stomping grounds, namely by helping out S.C. Sen. Jim DeMint.
Romney is also keeping up his active fundraising -- doing an event for noted fiscal conservative Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.) on Feb. 17 in Boston.
It's not the first time that DeMint has ventured beyond the Bible belt for a little campaign cash. City Paper reported last year that California-based American Apparel has been a frequent campaign contributor.
