Rep. Hutto gets a challenger in District 115

Actually, we guess it should be "another" challenger, considering Green Party candidate Eugene Platt is prepared to offer a third-party challenge.

Anyway, the Republicans have now fielded a candidate:

Assistant solicitor Peter McCoy is challenging Rep. Anne Peterson Hutto (D) for her Statehouse seat representing James Island and Folly Beach.

McCoy, a Republican, says he's running to offer "conservative-based reform" and wants to fight wasteful spending in the GOP controlled Statehouse. He wants to improve efficiency in government. He's signed a pledge not to vote for a tax increase.

Hutto won the seat in 2008 in a very close race with then-incumbent Wallace Scarborough.
