After a long holiday weekend without any new revelations, it looks like the good times are over for The Nikki FITS. Gosh, the tea-bagging Haley supporters aren't even causing a stink anymore.
Folks did publish a new post on Tuesday, claiming that a Haley supporter has begged him to shut up about the affair allegations. Folks says that he has more information that he'll release when it is "bullet proof," whatever that means.
Two final notes:
• There was one more morsel from Folks regarding the mysterious electronic messages between the two that appear to have been lost to the internets.
Some of the text messages between him and Haley did occur after he was married, however, including one exchange that Folks’ wife discovered.
She responded by texting Haley back from her husband’s phone, identifying herself as Will’s wife and telling Haley to “keep it professional.” Obviously, that put an end to the texting.
Look, we’re not claiming he’s a saint. In fact, we’ve never claimed that.
I know. Yawn.
• One aspect of Haley's rebuttal that I haven't really seen analyzed yet was her statement about putting her helmet on. She's made the statement several times that, after the polls showed her climbing, she turned to her husband and said something along the lines of "Lets put our helmets and shoulder pads on."
Sure she did, because she already knew that reporters were asking around about the alleged affair. According to the text exchanges between Folks and campaign manager Tim Pearson, they knew the affair story was breaking a good week before those polls started climbing. The interesting question would be when she actually told her husband the full story. According to the text messages, Pearson didn't want to talk about the affair story in front of Haley's husband just days before Folks' revelation.
