Spoleto announced yesterday that the festival has built 28 additional balcony seats in the Woolfe Street Playhouse to accommodate the high demand for shows being presented there, especially the dance performance What Moves You with Lil' Buck and Ashley Bathgate — that show sold out in January before the festival added another performance — and Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music: Songs of the American Right.

This is the first year Spoleto has used Woolfe Street as a venue — and also the reason why a Woolfe Street Piccolo production is noticeably absent this year. Usually, their shows are the favorite for Piccolo theater (last year it was Spamalot!, and the year before they did Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson).

Tickets for the additional seats will go on sale at 10 a.m. this morning, Fri. May 15, and are on a first-come, first-served basis. You can puchase tickets online at spoletusa.org, by phone at (843) 579-3100, or in person at the Spoleto box office, located in the Charleston Visitors Center at 375 Meeting St.

The shows that will have new seats available are:
