Ada/Ava, the Spoleto play about a woman named Ada, who struggles to cope with the death of her twin sister, Ava, has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award in the category of Unique Theatrical Experience. Drama Desk Awards are given annually and are the only major New York City theater honors for which productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, and off-off Broadway compete in the same categories. The awards will be presented on Sun. June 5 at 8 p.m. at New York's Town Hall.

Ada/Ava is set within a New England gothic landscape, utilizing three musicians who perform an original score and more than 300 flat paper and acetate puppets. Time Out New York calls the production "talent incarnate." The play starts its four-day Spoleto run on Fri. May 27 at 5 p.m. at Emmett Robinson Theatre.
