Insta-Classic: Nikki Haley's unfortunate social media undershare

Ellipsis oops

An Instagram post by Gov. Nikki Haley this afternoon praising education reform during the legislative session, which ended last week, went horribly wrong when the post was cross-posted to Twitter, minus a few critical words.

The full post reads: "South Carolina made history this year by passing education reform. We will no longer educate children based on where they are born."

But the wonderful world of Twitter, with its 140 character limit, did not play nice with Haley's glowing review of the law, cutting the governor's words short after "We will no longer educate children..."

The tweet sat live on the interwebs for almost an hour before it was replaced with a new (decidedly less bold) version, attracting a generous amount of customary Twitter snark (herehere, here, and here).

The good governor is just an innocent victim of the facts of life on social media, but unfortunately for her, screenshots of this one will probably last well past her administration.
