It was just a normal Tuesday on the internet until about 2:18 p.m. local time. Chuckles rippled throughout the series of tubes when Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump thought it would be a good idea to grab his iPhone to tweet: "The people of South Carolina are embarrassed by Nikki Hailey!"
Of course, Twitter exploded like it does whenever @realdonaldtrump says words. Most of the responses weren't necessarily noticing the spelling of Gov. Nikki Haley's last name, just the disgusting, hateful stuff that happens when politics, sports, the weather, your health, and/or women are discussed on the internet.
In just a few short minutes, that tweet was gone. Probably a faulty earpiece or short fingers or something, soon replaced with a spell-checked version of the same tweet. Who really knows why Trump says what he says, but we're assuming he's firing back at Haley for criticism of him while she was stumping for Marco Rubio yesterday in Atlanta.
Without missing a beat, the governor poured herself a glass of sweet tea, sat down in the nearest rocking chair, and fired off the tweet heard 'round the South: "@realdonaldtrump, Bless your heart."
