After state solicitor David Pascoe said in a filing last week that the state Attorney General's Office was impeding his investigation of ethics violations in the Statehouse, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson's office denied the allegations and said it was removing Pascoe as a special investigator, accusing the prosecutor of abuse of power. (Pascoe was given the responsibility after Wilson cited a conflict of interest in his office working on it.) Pascoe, in turn, said that Wilson can't remove him without a court order.
