North Charleston police ask for input on Citizens Advisory Commission

The North Charleston Police Department has scheduled two public meetings to gather input on the creation of a Citizens Advisory Commission on Community Relations. The commission will work with the department to help improve relationships between law enforcement officials and the public, as well as provide input on the department’s hiring and promotion process and community policing efforts.

A representative from the Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service will be on hand to facilitate the discussion. Each meeting will include a brief presentation.

The first meeting is scheduled Mon. June 20 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Alfred Williams Community Life Center Auditorium at 4401 Durant Ave. The second public meeting will take place Tues. June 21 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Praise located at 3790 Ashley Phosphate Road.
