A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests in a downtown homicide that occurred earlier this month.

Gerald Lee Dilligard was found beaten to death in his home at 8 Rosemont St., according to Lt. Bill Holling with the Charleston Police and Crime Stoppers. Dilligard’s father returned home shortly before 1 a.m. on July 2 to discover his 27-year-old son lying on the floor. Officers who responded to the scene reported that Dilligard suffered wounds to his head, neck, and left arm. The Coroner’s Office determined that he died of blunt-force trauma.
