According to an incident report from the Charleston Police Department, Lynch was found standing in front of a closed business in the area of Ann and King streets, “swaying back and forth in an apparent intoxicated state.”

An officer with the Charleston police wrote in the report that he approached Lynch outside of AC’s Bar and Grill, where the chef was reportedly arguing with security staff. The incident report states that Lynch was attempting to gain entry to the bar after being escorted out for being too intoxicated.
