Two Ashley Ridge High School seniors, Jaheim President and Darius Smith, are featured on Tuesday's episode of Ellen to get some important news about their admission status to College of Charleston.

Darius Smith had already received his acceptance to the College, but Jaheim President said he was waiting on pins and needles to find out. Little did they know, Ellen was holding his acceptance letter to give him the news on the air.

Both students are teacher cadets, a program which helps to recruit future teachers. Jaheim President will be the first in his family to go to college, Darius Smith will be the first to go not on an athletic scholarship.

Not only did they both get accepted to the College, they both received full scholarships and were each presented with a check for $20,000. The pair were also presented with a check for $10,000 for their school.

The announcement comes just a few days after CofC students gathered in front of the school's landmark building to protest a racist video posted on social media by fellow students on a class trip. Minority students make up less than 20 percent of the student body.

Get your tissues ready and watch the show at 4 p.m. on WCIV 4.
