Andrew Yang, another candidate in the crowded 2020 Democratic presidential race, will stop at the Silver Dollar in Charleston this month.

The 44-year-old entrepreneur will stop at the (newly renovated) King Street bar as part of his "Humanity First Tour" on Sun. May 19 at 6 p.m.

Yang is campaigning on the idea of a universal basic income of $1,000 a month for all U.S. citizens over the age of 18. He has also backed single-payer health care, the decriminalization of opioids, and lowering the voting age to 16.

In November 2017, Yang became the first person to declare his run for the Democratic nomination.
He is the founder of Venture for America, a nonprofit that trains young adults to work for startups across the country through a two-year fellowship program. In 2015, he was named a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship by President Barack Obama. (Elizabeth Holmes was also one of the ambassadors, but stepped down in 2016 due to a federal investigation into her blood testing company, Theranos, which was at point valued at $9 billion and eventually turned out to be a scam.)

You can RSVP to meet Yang here.
