For tonight's game against the Columbia Fireflies, the Charleston RiverDogs are doing a giveaway people may just fight over: a baseball glove scented bar of soap for the first 1,000 fans.
What does a baseball glove scented soap smell like? "Kind of like an old, dusty, good worn-in one sitting in your garage," said Matt Dean, the RiverDogs' Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. All the magic of that old leather smell without any of the fear of spiders or physical activity.
For the Fight Club
themed game, they will not only be giving away soaps, but Tyler Durden will be there to take photos with fans. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
Don't know what fight club is?
I'll break the first rule: Fight Club
is a 1996 novel by Chuck Palahniuk, which was made into a move in 1999. A depressed insomniac (Edward Norton) meets a strange soap salesman named Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), and to rebel from their boring office jobs, start a secret club to fight other men who are equally as bored with their existence.
It's also Thirsty Thursday, so fans can snag $1 beers — a promotion that is not subject to the first rule of Fight Club.
