College of Charleston's very own Charleston Student Advocates for the Arts is joining forces with the City of Charleston for the First Arts Advocacy Summit on Sat., April 11 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Taking place at the City Gallery at Waterfront Park, CSAA and guests will come together to talk about and promote the arts. By providing a creative outlet for expression and new ideas during forums, CSAA is able to reach CofC and artists alike to teach and learn more about advocacy and networking opportunities.
Speakers for the event include: Ellen Dressler Moryl, director of the City of Charleston's Office of Cultural Affairs; Scott Shanklin-Peterson, president of the South Carolina Arts Alliance; James Braunreuther, fine arts coordinator of the CCSD; and Brett Lott, member of National Council on the Arts and the advisory board on the National Endowment of the Arts.
A reception following the event will be at Yo Burrito, 77 Wentworth St.
