The Lifetime network has given the greenlight to film 12 more episodes Army Wives for next year. The locally produced TV show draws in women with plots centered around military families and love-life drama, giving Army Wives its highest ratings for the adults 18-34. I'm sure the loads of good looking men in uniform don't hurt either. The third season premieres in June.

On the big screen, rural countryside goes to Hollywood in The Carolina Storyteller. Screenwriting duo Marcia Chandler Rhea and Margaret Ford Rogers have optioned their script to Sydell Albert Productions, Inc. for a feature the film project. The heart of the screenplay is two small-town boys who uncover a dark secret in rural South Carolina.

Also on the film forefront is the Charleston International Film Festival, April 23-26. The four day festival is chock full of red-carpet premieres, networking events, workshops, and parties, all leading up to the blacktie Gala Awards Ceremony.

Gospel Hill, one of the many films to be screened, is sure to be a stand out. The film stars Danny Glover, Angela Basset, Julia Styles, and rapper RZA. Directed by Giancario Esposito, Gospel Hill was filmed entirely in S.C. and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.
