2015 Spring Jam Music Fest

When: Sat., April 18, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. 2015

Spring Jam has moved its third annual art and music shindig across the river to Patriots Point, and they’re hoping the location change will mark the first non-muddy day in the event’s history. Rain and mud didn’t keep crowds away in 2013 or ’14 — the fest’s lineup of artists and local food and beer keeps people coming back every year. This year Spring Jam has added another arts element — in addition to local performance artists and vendors located in the Arts & Goods Village — with “artists at large” showing their works throughout the day. “Spring Jam continues to evolve beyond the music, and this year we’re excited about the addition of visual arts to the mix. It’s all about honoring expression, creativity, and ushering in spring with a colorful bang,” says Hilary Johnson, chief experience orchestrator of Gusto Group. Graffiti artist Jesse Earle will be live-painting on-site, while Sherwood Webb of Fun Art of Charleston will have their signature large rocking horses on display. Giddy up. Corey Cox will be stiltin’ around as the fest’s signature stilt walker. Charleston-based photographer Rachel Ann Nielsen will have photos on hand, and she and other artists at large will be selling select pieces. Performance art includes performances by The Missing Links, the break dance crew that wows crowds at the Charleston farmers market every Saturday, and Holy City Cirque, a troupe that features acro yogis, face painters, and everyone’s favorite, fire spinners
