When: Sun., April 17, 4-7 p.m. 2011
Lowcountry Local First covers a host of important issues with one umbrella mission — advocating a local living economy by supporting independent businesses and farmers. That means they throw great parties because they tap into the people, food, and companies that make our area so utterly unique.
At the Chef’s Potluck, you can sample dishes prepared by some of our best chefs and restaurants (Circa 1886, Slightly North of Broad, Poe’s Tavern, The Glass Onion, Cru Café, Fish, FIG, EVO, Social, and more) while enjoying beer brewed in North Charleston (COAST), spirits distilled on Wadmalaw (Firefly), and wine procured and distributed by Charleston-based Grassroots Wine.
Winner of LLF’s Inaugural Food Innovator Award Mark Marhefka will be supplying his freshest catch while Roots Ice Cream, Giddy Goat Cheese, Charleston Cookie Company, Island Coffee, and Café Frazze will be bringing the desserts. If you’re not too sure what a local living economy is, you can get a real taste of it at this event.
Bluegrass provided by Yeehaw Junction. Tickets can be purchased at The Glass Onion in West Ashley, EVO in Park Circle, and lowcountrylocalfirst.org.
Price: $55 for LLF members and $60 for non-members in advance and $60 for LLF members and $65 for non-members at the door
