The fifth annual Community Compass Project, sponsored by the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina and several community partners, will bring together a live cooking demonstration from a Food Network star, a panel of health experts to answer questions and guide attendees on healthier living, and fun activities including a health recipe contest. The event will feature Chef Aaron McCargo, Jr., Season Four winner of The Next Food Network Star and star of the Food Network show Big Daddy’s House. Chef McCargo will talk with the audience and give a live cooking demonstration focused on healthy eating. Chef McCargo’s demonstration will be followed by a panel of health experts including Dr. Ann Kulze, M.D., wellness physician and best-selling author; Jeanette Jordan, M.S., Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator; Natasha Lecque, Ph.D., CEO of Sports Performance & Wellness; and Janette Colantonio, Life Coach and CEO/Founder of Refusing to Fail. The program also features a healthy recipe contest, with prizes ranging from $50 to $300.
