5th Annual Green Heart Harvest Dinner

Join the Green Heart Project in celebrating their 2015 Harvest Dinner with a menu featuring Jamie Westendorff BBQ pork and chicken, with sides like smoked potato salad, and a summer strawberry salad from Verde. The Green Heart Project is a farm-to-school program that pairs volunteers with students, and this event will benefit local schools in providing healthy field-to-table produce for students in the Charleston area. Dessert will be served by King of Pops and Juice Joint will whip up a fresh lemonade and aqua fresca. Green Heart’s Executive director Drew Harrison says that over 700 people came out for the event last year, and that they are hoping to have a similar turnout this year. There will be jump castles and slides for kids and for adults there will be cornhole and an interactive art board. Live music comes from the Garage Cuban Band and MaskerBand. This program is sponsored by Taco Boy and Harrison has been working closely with the people at Taco Boy to educate kids about how to eat properly and healthfully.
