8th Annual Record Store Day

When: Sat., April 18, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. 2015

This celebration of record stores has become a huge international event, fueling a resurgence of vinyl, regeneration of record stores, and a lot of excitement among music fans. This year on Record Store Day roughly 450 limited, exclusive vinyl releases will be available only at participating independent record stores. Monster Music in West Ashley and Cat’s Music in Summerville will be opening early and conducting day-long celebrations with food, crafts, prizes, live music, andvstorewide sales. Live performers at Monster will include one national band – Milo Greene, a cinematic pop band from Los Angeles (on Elektra Records), and local artists Susto, Johnny Delaware, Fowler’s Mustache, Bill Carson, Estee Gabay and Forty Mile Detour. Performing at Cat’s Music will be Level Headed, Sex Wax, Backwards Youth and Senam Palmer live via satellite. Live music begins at 12 noon. Food offerings at Monster: Platia, Dashi, and EMS food trucks on site all day.
