Twisted Fish got some attention for adding more seafood, steak, and tapas dishes to the menu (the sirloin tip steak sandwich rocks, by the way). Executive Chef Brannon Florie (formerly of the Boathouse) came aboard last year. He and his team hooked up with reps from Lee Distributors to present their first-ever beer dinner on Jan. 27 — five courses of wild game dishes paired with a variety of ales. The dinner winded down with an unexpectedly light dessert: An elegant beer float served in a flute glass. Florie carefully poured a few ounces of sweet and malty Breckinridge Vanilla Porter over spoonfuls of his homemade wild berry ice cream. It was a highlight all around the candle-lit room.
