Watching A Christmas Story is kind of a forced holiday tradition. Not that that’s a bad thing, since it’s an excellent comedy despite its seasonal trappings, but you can’t really miss it when it’s on TV non-stop for 24 hours. The story of Ralphie, his family, and his desire for a BB gun can also be seen live and locally this season at the Flowertown Players’ theater in Summerville. The play officially opens on Friday, but on Thursday they’ll have a special first-ever Red Carpet Night. Attendees are asked to wear formal attire for their walk in front of paparazzi, and they’ll enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres before the show, strawberries and champagne at intermission, and an after-party at the Ice House.
