A Night of Wine

When: Thu., Dec. 18, 7-10 p.m. 2014

A drink at The Faculty Lounge is usually more along the lines of a cocktail or some suds, but on Thursday David McCarus will be serving up wine instead. “As far as wine is concerned, I am a huge proponent on the fact that wine is fun and should be enjoyed anytime, anywhere, and there should be nothing pretentious about it,” says McCarus. “Popping a bunch of bottles and pouring wine at a location like The Faculty Lounge says just that.” McCarus will be featuring wines that were once only distributed in California and New York — until McCarus brought them to the Holy City — from small-production pink and red wines to sparkling French bubbles and white blends from Spain. He also notes that glasses will range from $8-$10, “so that the everyday Charleston local can taste any of them.” And McCarus may sell grower champagne by the bottle at the event too. After the tasting, The Faculty Lounge will stay open until 2 a.m. if you feel so inclined.
