A Very Merry Weekend Round-Up

The best events in Charleston, Dec. 23-25

In case you are completely ignorant of everything that is happening ever, this Sunday is Christmas. Which means that this Saturday is Christmas Eve. Which means that there isn’t much going on in Charleston this weekend outside of personal homes.

Chamber Music Charleston presents Gift of the Magi and The Night Before Christmas on the night before the night before Christmas.

Theatre 99 brings some comedy to the holiday season with their The Have Nots! Holiday Jam and The Christmas Will Be Televised shows.

Waffle Haus Christmas and The Winter Wonderettes wrap up.

Megan Jean and the KFB will kick off their latest tour with a Christmas Eve show at the Mill.

Mercato and Trattoria Lucca are both having traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes dinners on Christmas Eve, and Poogan’s Porch and Magnolias will have Christmas dinners.

Southern Seasons Grill and Spirit Moves will both host Christmas Eve events; the former will have marshmallow roasting and eggnog drinking, while the latter will be a way to relax before the big day.

Charleston’s chosen (young) people will gather for the yearly Matzah Ball, where luckily they won’t be eating matzah because it’s not Passover.

And here’s two events that couldn’t be less completely different. The Birthday Party for Jesus is a faith-based charitable event taking place at Hagood Stadium, while There is No God is an annual secular art show at Upper Deck Tavern meant to inspire a free-thinking environment. Both take place on Christmas.
