The late George Harrison once said, “The Beatles will exist without us.” The four lads in Athens, Ga.-based tribute band Abbey Road Live! take that notion literally. For nearly a decade, guitarist Tim Conley, drummer Andrew “Silver Hammer” Hanmer, bassist Dave Domizi, and guitarist/keyboardist/woodwind player Michael Wegner have been rendering the Beatles’ melodies, rhythms, and vibes by covering the entire Abbey Road album, front-to-back, and playing an assortment of earlier Fab Four hits and deep cuts. “Don’t expect mop-top haircuts and vintage Rickenbacker guitars,” they say. “Rather, this show is about bringing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles material in a raw and spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings.” They’ve mastered the guitar licks, harmonies, and dynamics of the 1969 album while putting their own touch on some of the transitions and solos. They'll play two sets starting at 9 p.m.
