Take a trip to Africa without having to pack a bag when you bring your children to this Adande African Dance performance. This exploration of African dance and drumming is designed to get the audience moving and feeling as if they are in the heart of Africa. Adande African Dance, the longest running African dance company in the area, is putting on this performance appropriate for all ages. Art Coordinator Ann Simmons says, “It’s nice for them [audience members] to be exposed to something different. Typically we want it to be entertaining but also have that educational value.” With the mission of spreading the knowledge of this traditional dance form, staff hope to interact with guests while they teach audience members about the background of Guinea traditions.
