African American Fiber Art Exhibition: Mermaids and Merwomen in Black Folklore

Inspired by the folklore and visual history of African water divinities and explorations of this subject by scholars, the sixth installment of this annual exhibition will feature African-American fiber artists from across the nation interpreting stories and depictions of water spirits in African and the Afro-Atlantic world through cloth.
