We’re pretty proud of our air-drumming skills, and we think our hairbrush singing would even get Simon Cowell to give us a contract. Which is why we’re pretty pumped to see who our air band rivals are at Tin Roof’s Air Band Competition, where up to 10 bands will showcase their fake-instrument playing skills. Bands must have a name and at least three people in them, but no more than five. They’re encouraged to have three songs prepared and to bring those songs on an iPod or flash drive. There’s no real theme to the competition, either, but event organizer Steven Schaab says, “We didn’t want to have boy bands since they don’t play instruments.” Jason Groce will host the event, and there’ll be four judges to decide who’s the best based on outfits, performance, originality, and choreographed moves. The $5 cover will be going to the Scleroderma Foundation. To sign up, go to the event’s Facebook page.
