What is it? A late addition to the Piccolo Fringe line-up, local singer-songwriter Jay Clifford performs a three-night series of solo sets.

Why see it? Formerly of pop/rock band Jump (a.k.a. Jump, Little Children), Clifford is one of the local scene's most significant rock stars. He recently released his first official solo album — a shimmering collection of guitar-pop titled Driving Blind, recorded in L.A. with producer Warren Huart (Howie Day). The album features his, as Piccolo puts it, "hauntingly ethereal voice and pitch-perfect compositions" — especially the echo-laden, piano-led tunes "Caught in the Rain," "Driving Blind," and the atmospheric "Don't Be Fooled."

Who should go? Fans of melodic and emotive modern pop music, longtime Jump heads, and those eager to catch a unique glimpse of one of Charleston's strongest songwriters.
