Arbouretum w/ Celebration

When: Wed., Oct. 26 2011

Baltimore-based rock band Arbouretum obviously loves the Tin Roof. They keep booking shows at the West Ashley venue, and that’s a good thing; the cozy club’s acoustics and vibes fit the dense style of the band. Songwriter, singer, and guitarist Dave Heumann and his bandmates — bassist Corey Allender, drummer J.V. Brian Carey, and keyboardist Matthew Pierce — return to the club in support of a grand new album titled The Gathering (Thrill Jockey). Heavily textured with guitar and keys, it’s a heavy-duty trip for the listener. Heumann says the theme of the new collection was inspired by The Red Book by Carl Jung, or, more specifically, “Jung’s pursuit of the inner images that led to the book’s writing.” The band shares the stage with Celebration. Music starts around 9:30 p.m.
