We think sunrises get too much credit. If you ask us sunsets are where it’s at — especially if you’re on the dock overlooking the water at Lowndes Grove. And on Thursday, you can be while also supporting the Lowcountry Food Bank and the Charleston chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI), a philanthropic society of female leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. “We gave five scholarships last year and hope to do more next year,” says Devany Vickery-Davidson, PR chairman of LDEI. “Our silent auction proceeds go to the scholarship fund.” Plus, there’s going to be food to nosh and wine to sip as you stroll the grounds of Lowndes Grove. WildFlour Pastry, Southern Season, Manchester Farms Quail, and GrowFood Carolina will all be providing some of the eats. The money raised will go toward both Lowcountry Food Bank and the LDEI. Some of the silent auction items include a biscuit-making class from Natalie Dupree and a Jeremiah Bacon home-cooked meal for 10 of your closest friends. The VIP portion starts at 5:30 p.m. and gets you food prepared by Chef Michelle Weaver of Charleston Grill — and a Dame — as well as champagne from Moet Hennessy.
Price: $120/VIP, $60
