The renovation of the old Crab Shack on East Bay Street is notable for many reasons, but our favorite aspect of the new place is the lighting. It’s the first thing you notice when you sit down and glance up. Oyster shells are strung together to form a light-filtering dome that’s downright stunning. Proprietor Keith Jones tells us that he came up with the design and found an artist in Savannah to execute it. The two of them could go into business together selling these things. Seriously. Forget about gas lanterns. Oyster chandeliers could become the new must-have home accessory.
