When it comes to restaurants in Mt. Pleasant, you’re more likely to come across a chain than anything else. Of course, there’s a time and a place for meal at a national franchise — heck, we can gobble up a plate of P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps as fast as the next pleb — but we do like supporting our mom and pops. Take Michael Scognamiglio’s Bacco for instance. Located in a strip mall at the corner of Coleman and Houston-Northcutt boulevards, Bacco serves up some of best Italian food in the Lowcountry. And after a big meal, we like nothing more than to order a cup of coffee. And we have to say that Bacco’s Americano is quite possibly the best cup of coffee we’ve ever had. It’s dark and bold without being bitter, and it’s so flavor-packed it compels you to savor it and relax. You simply have no choice but to take a sip and close your eyes.
