Local lawyer Elliott Smith and the folks at the BACE League of Charleston are doing their part to make sure that when the bar ban comes up for renewal in September, the no votes win. And in order to do that, Smith and BACE — a coalition of businesses, artists, culture mavens, and entertainers — are trying to get as many bar-loving downtown residents as possible registered to vote. On May 9, they’re throwing a huge concert at the Charleston Music Hall featuring Brave Baby and SUSTO, two of the Holy City’s best acts (heck, we’d even go as far as to say two of the country’s best). If you haven’t registered to vote by then, you’ll be able to at the show. Oh ... and PBR is a sponsor of the event.
