When Mary Norton closed its doors in 2009, well-heeled ladies with a penchant for shiny accessories reacted with dismay. How could such a high-class, beloved establishment go away? At the same time, bargain hunters swooped in, gleefully snatching up deeply discounted shoes and accessories. A year later, the local entrepreneur resurfaced with a new, more affordable line called Frosting. In November, she appeared on the Home Shopping Network in November hawking her new bags, scarves, and wraps - Norton says it was one of the network's biggest launches in 2010.
