I love it when an unassuming menu item jumps up and grabs you. The pretzel at Bay Street Biergarten is one such thing. You may go in thinking it’s just another bar pretzel, but when it arrives, you will realize your underestimation. It’s not an overly buttery salt stick like you find in chain restaurants. No, it’s a crisp, warm, expertly twisted bow tie almost the size of your head. It’s delicious, handmade with care (spiked with beer), and served alongside some nose-searing Lusty Monk mustard.
