Best Former NCAA Quarterback To Visit The RiverDogs This Year

Tim Tebow

Staff Pick

The irony isn’t lost on USC football fans that Tim Tebow, the Gamecocks’s arch nemesis when he wore Gator blue, is now living and working in Columbia, as a member of the local Fireflies baseball team. The season is young, but Tebow, always a gamer, has already smashed a series of home runs despite a meager showing in spring training. Even if fans of the Gamecocks and the hometown Fireflies have to hold their noses to admit it, Tebow is a great attraction for the city’s new minor league team. Tebow and the Fireflies make a couple trips south to play the RiverDogs this season, and you can expect the same kind of welcome for the Heisman trophy winner when he steps on the field at The Joe. —Sam Spence
