Best Gift To Charleston

High Water Festival

Staff Pick

There’s an exciting energy about the Charleston music scene right now as it continues to grow, and seeing some of our own, like Shovels & Rope, deservedly make it big has been part of that. That’s why it’s so special that the very duo who has taken tales about the Lowcountry to global audiences is bringing even more attention to the Holy City by creating and curating this month’s inaugural High Water Festival. The weekend’s top-shelf lineup has definitely raised the profile of Charleston as a music destination, shining a light on our own musicians as well — and we cannot thank Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent enough for that amazing gift. —Kelly Rae Smith
