Come summertime, we all curse the flooded streets of Charleston. The inventive kayakers become annoying media attention whores; the realization that you may just have to abandon your car and trek home in thigh-deep water becomes all too true. But there are some people out there who are making the most out of the floodplained city. The folks behind Flooded Streets want to create shirts that represent things only local Charlestonians would know — be it the Hat Man or the old Woolworth’s lunch counter. They’re working on new designs — and perhaps even sweatshirts — but we’re hoping these shirts become symbolic of our city and eradicate those palmetto moons forever.
