For years Karalee Nielsen Fallert and Tim Mink were a formidable duo, concepting, opening, and managing restaurants all over the place, from Poe's and Raval to Monza and Taco Boy. They seemed unstoppable. Until, of course, their partnership broke up. Suddenly Fallert was no longer part of the team, and REV was renamed RERUN, and nobody was eager to talk about what happened. Ultimately, Fallert is no longer hands-on in the management of those other restaurants and has thrown her formidable energies into Lee Lee's Hot Kitchen and The Park Cafe, two new spots that opened within weeks of each other. Mink also rebounded with a new partner, hooking up with Brooks Reitz of the Ordinary/FIG fame to open Leon's and St. Alban, neither of which have opened yet. It's complicated, all right, and it's looking downright competitive.
