We keep trying to write about Rachel Gordon’s beautiful designs, but we’re getting distracted by her online portfolio. Gordon creates both ready-to-wear pieces and bridal gowns. When it comes to love, we’ve decided we believe in the whole at-first-sight thing when we see the lacy, drapey, flowy pieces of magic that comprise Gordon’s wedding portfolio. Any modern, Southern bride wearing one of these dresses would be the luckiest gal at the alter (oh, and we’re sure her partner would be a great catch, too). A “One Love” bride is described as adventurous, free-spirited, and guided by her heart. We’re pretty sure these are some of the qualities embodied by Gordon. A self-taught fashion designer, she first made a name for herself at the 2008 Charleston Fashion Week’s Emerging Designer Competition. After a successful stint filling custom orders, Gordon opened her shop. Her designs are described as both “fluid” and “ethereal.” We agree, but we want to know — can we add a “something-we-really-need-to-have” category to that?
