Penis Pill Bill

Staff Pick

In an effort to hit ‘em where it hurts, state Rep. Mia McLeod introduced a bill that would require men seeking drugs for erectile dysfunction to undergo a process similar to women seeking abortions in South Carolina. In addition to obtaining a notarized affidavit from sexual partners attesting to their, um, performance problems, men would also be required to undergo counseling and meet with a licensed sexual therapist. While McLeod says the bill is a way to grow the discussion on abortion services among the state’s “male-dominated” legislature, the proposed law faced stiff opposition in the state House of Representatives. —Dustin Waters
