Edmund’s Oast

Readers Pick

When we first heard that the team behind the Charleston Beer Exchange — Rich Carley and Scott Shor — were going to open a beer hall called Egan’s Oast, now Edmund’s, we knew they’d be serving up some killer brews — and that they do, from the much buzzed-about Peanut Butter and Jelly to the dark and oaky Breakfast at the Still and the mouth-puckering sour Voodoo Child. But who knew they’d turn out so much damn fine food — seriously, the Heirloom Pumpkin Custard is creamy and dreamy. And then there’s their happy-hour bar menu, where many, if not most, items are $4. We can’t resist their kielbasa sliders and smoked pastrami chicken wings, and the sweet potato fries are pretty dang good, too. Needless to say, we here at the City Paper are glad that Edmund’s is located right up the street from us.
