Working at a newspaper, we like to think we’re in the know, especially when it comes to food-related matters. So it’s with more than a little embarrassment that we admit we didn’t know about Natural Blonde Bloody Mary Mix until we tried it a few weeks ago at the newly opened Junction Kitchen and Provisions. But, boy oh boy, are we glad we know that now. Made by John Aquino using Valencia Gold Tomatoes from Blackbird Farms on Johns Island, Natural Blonde has an orange hue and a mild yet very homegrown-ish flavor, the kind that tastes like a freshly pulled tomato smells. We’re definitely ordering a few bottles of this to give to the fam at Christmas.
