OK, they're not really a drinking club, per se. They're more about spreading the gospel of quality bourbon. But they also drink a lot of it, and that counts for something in our book. The Charleston Brown Water Society has been around for less than a year, but the group is nearly as hyped as the latest Pappy Van Winkle release. Indeed, Julian Van Winkle was at their debut party during the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. That's how well connected these guys are to the bourbon-making industry. CBWS started with a small group and is hoping to grow slowly but not too slowly. They aim to have chapters all over the world before long. That might be the liquid courage talking, but we like their style. And their brown water.
